Coach Teak. Wood was the standard method of coach body construction for both the GNR and LNER as well as a number of other railways.
This paint is best applied over light base coat (P16, P995, P117, P133, P21 have all been used to good effect).
Dry brush the teak paint over the base coat in the direction of the grain, horizontal for the upper panels and vertical for the lower panels.
The colour of the base coat will help to determine the colour of the finished teak.
Apply transfers and then carefully apply a coat of varnish over the whole coach.
Unless two coaches were finished at the same time they will be different colours.
See our page on painting Teak Coaches for more details.
