Scale Model Scenery OO Gauge Old Dairy

A versatile OO gauge dairy laser cut building kit, with lean-to suitable for any farm scene on your OO scale model railway layout or can be repurposed as a workshop or stores for railway or industrial use. The design is typical of many buildings of this type that can still be seen all over the British Isles, with stone walls & slate roof with wooden shutters to the windows. It makes a great partner to any of our OO gauge farm buildings (opens in a new tab).

Based on a real old dairy building situated in Grampound, a little village between Truro and St Austell, this building will look at home on any layout regardless of the era or region you're modelling.

The walls of the OO gauge dairy are finished in our popular old stone texture, enabling it to fit in with any location or railway region.

The kit is supplied with pre-weathered paper texture wraps to give a realistically better finish straight from the packet. And components apart from the paper wraps are supplied pre-cut for ease of assembly.

The windows & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are loaded with lots detail including engraved planks, hinges and locks (separately applied - so they are tiny!). There's also a choice between a "slatted gate" style door for the arched doorway or a solid wooden arch topped door. Separately applied downpipes add an extra finishing touch.

The building consists of two main "rooms": Main dairy / stores and the the lean-to to the left hand side. A full set of interior wraps are also included so you can pose any of the doors or shutters open should you wish.

Doors & window frames on this OO gauge dairy kit require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. We used a Plastikote Stone colour which we then dry-brushed with burnt sienna, white & slate grey artists acrylics to create a weathered wood look.

There is an abundance of opportunities for customization with this oo gauge building kit. The slates are applied in individual strips, making it effortless to construct a pristine or derelict appearance, or anything in between.
