 This kit shows off one of the finest sets of tooling we created during the late 1990s. Back by popular demand, the classic Spitfire is the best selling model in the Airfix range. In fact, the Spitfire has been an Airfix staple since the day one! This kit is a beauty, so if youve not made a Spitfire before this is the one to start with! Here we offer you a big 1:48 scale model giving you a model over 36cm long, with a 26cm wingspan! The Spitfire was enhanced and developed over the War years, and this kit allows you to create the late versions Mk22 and Mk24. Not only is the model a classic war plane, thanks to the new paint scheme and decal design you can present your finished model as either a member of the Hong Kong based squadron or as an Auxiliary fighter based in late 1940s England. In the box you will find a set of plastic sprues holding 88 beautifully manufactured components, waiting for you to assemble. Of course, you will find a fully illustrated set of assembly instructions, plus a paint guide and decals to apply once completed. So, no matter how you paint and assemble the model you will end up with a statement piece for any model collection. Something you will be proud to display.
