Great Western Railway Signal Red as used for the buffer beams and between the frames on all Locomotives for the period between 1945 and 1948.
British Railways Signal Red. Used for signal arms, brakedown trains, buffer beams and between the frames.
This is the later light red used after the Second World War for ALL GWR locomotives.
This particular colour, in conjunction with P100 GWR/BR Locomotive Green and P104 Lining Orange, is the correct colour for All post war GWR and ALL BR green locomotives.
All of our British Railways colours were matched to colour panels supplied to us by the Technical Services Department at Derby when we were suppliers to British Rail in the late 1970's and early 1980's. All of our GWR colours were matched to a privately preserved set of paint panels from Swindon Works. These not only had the colours, but the dates used and the names for each colour. Our understanding is that the panels had been signed by the CME for the period.
